John G. Mooney

John G. Mooney is a compassionate and knowledgeable family law attorney. Based on his 40 years of experience, he is regularly appointed as a divorce mediator by Family Court Judges.

Mr. Mooney is generally recognized by the Circuit Courts, in five counties in Southeast Michigan, for his skill in drafting Orders dividing pension and retirement plans. With these well rounded skills, Mr. Mooney helps families and individuals in transition effectively and efficiently, resolving the challenges of their family law related issues.

Mr. Mooney’s practice has been focused in domestic relations for over 35 years. Mr. Mooney has been extensively involved in pro bono activities for the Family Law Assistance Program, and the Oakland Country Bar Legal Aid clinics.

Mr. Mooney concentrates his practice in the areas of “Drafting Domestic Relations Orders” and “Conducting Divorce Mediations”.

Mr. Mooney received his Bachelor’s of Arts Degree from Wayne State University, Magna Cum Laude and his Juris Doctorate Degree from Wayne State University, Cum Laude. He has been a member of the faculty at Oakland Universtiy.

Mr. Mooney has demonstrated a significant civic commitment having been elected to the Beverly Hills Village Council in each of the last four decades and past President and current Council member of the Village of Beverly Hills. Mr. Mooney’s other civic involvement include President and board member of the Beverly Hills Little League, Chair and adult leader of BSA Troop 1024, SEMCOG representative and Michigan Municipal League representative.
